Take your engineering team from Claude Code basics to Agentic Workflows

A hands-on 15-lesson Claude Code workshop, practised on a real repository and shaped around how your team ships software.

  • Built for developers, tech leads and platform teams working in one shared codebase
  • Every lesson is practised on a demo repository, with exercises adapted to your stack
  • Learn the mechanics—context, permissions, hooks, agents—that outlast any single release

I ship with Claude Code every day

This is not a feature tour off a slide

I have shipped software for 13 years in Hong Kong, Germany and Japan, and I have seen exactly where teams adopting coding agents get stuck.

So this workshop teaches how the agent actually works, practised on a real codebase with real guard-rails, so everyone delegates to Claude Code with confidence the next day.

What teams run into

Having Claude Code installed does not mean the team uses it well

Many teams are stuck between one developer's impressive demo and a workflow the whole team can trust, review and repeat.

Prompting without a mental model
Developers type requests without understanding the agentic loop, the context window or why the agent chose a tool—so results feel random.
Permissions set by annoyance
Teams either approve everything to make prompts stop, or block so much that the agent is useless. Neither is a policy.
Workflows that live in one person's head
Useful prompts, checklists and review habits never become CLAUDE.md files, skills, hooks or plugins the team can share and version.

What the organization gains

Move from individual experiments to an agentic workflow the team owns

Participants learn to give context before acting, scope what the agent may do, package repeatable work and verify agentic output before it ships.

Context and planning first
Write lean CLAUDE.md files and use Plan Mode so the agent explores and proposes before it touches source.
Permissions as a deliberate policy
Choose the right settings scope, write narrow allow/deny rules and protect files that must never be read.
Reusable, shareable automation
Turn checklists into Skills, enforce checks with Hooks and package both as Plugins the whole team installs.
Delegation with evidence
Use Subagents, Agent Teams and GitHub workflows that return summaries and proof—not unchecked diffs.

Who this workshop is for

  • Developers who have tried Claude Code but still review every line by hand

  • Engineering teams that want one shared way of working with agents

  • Tech leads setting permission, review and automation standards for the team

Designed for engineering teams

Different engineering roles learn one shared way of working with the agent

Everyone learns the mechanics together, then exercises are adapted to each group's part of the codebase and delivery process.

  • Front-end & Full-stack Developers
  • Back-end & API Developers
  • Tech Leads & Architects
  • DevOps & Platform Engineers
  • QA & Code Reviewers
  • Engineering Managers & AI Champions

Workshop curriculum

15 lessons, from how the agent works to embedding the agent loop in your own product

Adapted from Lydia Hallie's Claude Code course on Frontend Masters and cross-checked against Anthropic's Claude Code documentation, taught on one cumulative demo repository.

Module 1 · Foundation & ControlUnderstand the agent before you hand it the keyboard

Build an accurate model of the agentic loop, then give it context, a plan, permissions and a reasoning budget on purpose.

  1. Meet Claude Code and the workshop's goals
  2. Under the hood: the model, the harness and the agentic loop
  3. CLAUDE.md and Plan Mode: context before action
  4. Permissions: scoping tool use safely
  5. Effort and the context window: budgeting reasoning and context

Module 2 · Reusable Workflows & DelegationPackage what works, automate what must happen, delegate what distracts

Turn repeated prompts into Skills, enforce checks with Hooks, then hand side-tasks to Subagents and Agent Teams.

  1. Skills: packaging knowledge and repeatable procedures
  2. Skill Creator and evaluation: proving a Skill got better
  3. Hooks: deterministic automation in the agent lifecycle
  4. Subagents: delegating without cluttering the main context
  5. Agent Teams: coordinating sessions when they need to talk

Module 3 · Packaging, Integration & EcosystemShare the workflow, connect it to your systems, take it beyond the terminal

Distribute with Plugins, connect tools through MCP, and work across Desktop, Web, GitHub, Cowork and the Agent SDK.

  1. Plugins: packaging workflows to share and maintain together
  2. MCP: connecting Claude to external tools and data with boundaries
  3. Claude Code Desktop, Web and a verifiable GitHub workflow
  4. Claude Cowork: delegating knowledge work with scoped data and approvals
  5. Claude Agent SDK: embedding the agent loop in your application

Workshop curriculum

Hands-on practice

Practice on a real repository, then on work each team can control

Every lesson starts on a shared demo issue tracker. Before the session, we pick follow-up exercises that match your stack without requiring confidential source code.

Feature teams
Plan and implement a feature with CLAUDE.md, Plan Mode and a scoped permission set, then review the diff with evidence.
Platform & DevOps
Write Hooks that run your real project checks, then package them with Skills into a Plugin the team installs.
QA & Code Review
Build a read-only reviewer Subagent and a GitHub workflow that reports findings without pushing unverified changes.
Tech Leads & Architects
Design an MCP tool contract and a read-only-first Agent SDK triage agent for one of your internal systems.

Exercises run on the public demo repository or on material your organization has already approved, so nothing sensitive is exposed.

How we work together

A workshop shaped around your codebase—not one slide deck for every company

Scope, duration, participant count and depth are agreed before the quotation is prepared.

  1. Discovery call

Discuss objectives, your stack, how the team reviews and ships today, and what Claude Code access your accounts support.

  2. Tailored agenda

Select modules, depth and follow-up exercises that match the team's roles and delivery process.

  3. On-site workshop

Teach and facilitate on laptops at your company, with every participant running the agent on the demo repository.

  4. Team playbook

Leave with CLAUDE.md conventions, permission policy, Skills, Hooks and review rules the team keeps using after the workshop.
